Since 2003 Nicole Benz and Stefan Stauffacher are working together under the name StauffacherBenz. Their scope of activities ranges from serious, down-to-earth product design to witty and intelligent design statements. StauffacherBenz create a wide range of products, furniture and accessories, jewellery and trade fair stands. No matter what the subject, the designs are innovative while functional, formally precise and technically sophisticated with one aim in mind: spreading pleasure.

Nicole Benz, born in 1969, trained as a primary school teacher before undertaking specialist training in jewellery and industrial design at HGK Zurich and HES Geneva. With a special interest in semantic aspects of design and jewellery, she thinks laterally, is extremely imaginative and inexhaustibly inventive.

Stefan Stauffacher, born in 1965, studied science at the ETH Zurich and worked as a biologist in water-protection. He then underwent specialist training in industrial design at HGK Bale and HGK Zurich. There followed internships and work for numerous renowned Swiss design studios. He has an analytical approach, is precise and persistent, with a keen sense of form.
